The MatrikonOPC Server for NTCIP provides access to Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) that support the NTCIP (National Transportation Communications for Intelligent Transportation System) Protocol. The MatrikonOPC server is installed on a Windows PC and uses RS-232, TCP/IP or radio modems to connect to DMS and other similar devices.
The NTCIP protocol is heavily used in the transportation industry to control Dynamic Message Signs. The signs can be found on roadways and throughout road construction sites to control traffic and communicate messages to drivers. Using the MatrikonOPC server, operators can control these signs from a centralized location. In addition to DMS, the NTCIP protocol communicates with traffic equipment and signals.
Features of the MatrikonOPC Server for NTCIP include:
- Fully compliant with all OPC DA (Data Access) specifications
- Permits read and write access to available data points
- Connects via RS-232 or TCP/IP
- Supports radio modems
- Automatic configuration
- Supports tag browsing
