OPC Server for SCADA Modbus
|
|
The MatrikonOPC Server for SCADA Modbus provides connectivity to Modbus compliant devices such as any PLCs, RTUs, DCSs, and other Modbus devices. Unlike other Modbus OPC Servers, this robust server is able to connect to a large number of telemetry-Scada connected Modbus devices.
Features and Benefits:
- Redundancy functionality now allows the user to select a level of redundancy: Classic, Hot, Warm, and Cold.
- The OPC Server acts as a Modbus Slave
- The OPC Server acts as a Modbus Master
- This OPC server is Windows Server 2008 compatible.
- Unlimited number of slave Modbus definitions
- Writes using function 21 is now implemented.
- Failed Force Poll, Stay Connected and many other poll management features...
If you are not connecting to many devices and are connecting with reliable wired links, our basic Plant Edition Modbus OPC Server may be a better choice.
Because this software uses MatrikonOPC's "SCADA" technology, it is capable of communication with RTU's over unreliable, noisy, slow, or expensive links. MatrikonOPC's SCADA technology also enables features such as:
- Bit writing capabilities to allow users to change bit switches
- Configuration of new devlinks on the fly through an OPC Client
- Unlimited number of slave Modbus definitions
- "round-robin" polling of devices with demand interrupts, which is especially useful when going over modem or GPRS links.
This server has been rigorously tested with hardware from vendors including ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Koyo, Schneider (Modicon), Triconex, Yokogawa, and many others.
There are two versions available:
MatrikonOPC Modbus Plant Edition: This driver is typically used in manufacturing, batch or process plants. Communication takes place with a PLC, DCS IED, analyzer, or some other controller. These devices are often "wired" through a reliable medium such as Ethernet or serial cables.
MatrikonOPC Modbus Telemetry SCADA edition: This driver is typically used by industries such as pipelines, mines, oil fields, and utilities. Communication often takes place with an RTU and is frequently unreliable, noisy, slow, or expensive (modems, leased lines, radios, satellite, etc). The MatrikonOPC Server for Modbus has been developed to enable both round-robin and demand polling of RTUs.

The OPC Server for SCADA Modbus is OPC Certified! OPC Certification is the process of ensuring that applications meet the standards specified by the OPC Foundation. OPC Certification requires extensive testing to ensure true interoperability. OPC Certification means multi-vendor system interoperability is guaranteed. If your OPC products are not certified, you need to ask your vendor what sort of guarantees they offer. |
