Microsoft has released a bulletin: Vulnerability in OLE Automation Could Allow Remote Code Execution (947890). How does this impact my MatrikonOPC solution? |
Solution:
The Windows update associated with this bulletin will resolve the security risk in the Microsoft library. Applications developed in Visual Basic 6 that deploy their own copies of the affected library, oleaut32.dll, will continue to be vulnerable even after doing the Windows update.
MatrikonOPC does not currently have any software which has been developed using VB 6.0 and does not distribute oleaut32.dll. Downloading this update will improve your system security without impacting your MatrikonOPC communication.
