Download: OPC Server for Foxboro I/A Implemented at Air Liquide

Air Liquide is an international industrial & medical gases and services group that operates in 60 countries and employs more than 30,000 people.

At the Air Liquide Rozenburg plant near Rotterdam in The Netherlands, a leak detection system (LDS) is used to check the status of a pipeline between their plant and one of their customers, 10 kilometers away. The LDS receives process information from the beginning and end of the pipeline, and uses statistical analyses of historical data to determine whether a leak is present, where it is located, and what size it is.

BELLT-GCA, a leading engineering company in industrial automation, used Matrikon's OPC Server to connect the REL Instruments & Atmos LDS to a Foxboro I/A DCS. The LDS is a local client, running alongside the OPC Server on the same Windows 2000 PC. Approximately ten values are exchanged between the LDS and DCS.

Gerard Kamps, the BELLT-GCA project leader was pleased with Matrikon's software, saying "The installation and configuration was easy and straight forward. I am very impressed with this OPC server."
