The MatrikonOPC Server for Siemens SIMATIC 505 PLC is an OPC compliant server that enables data exchange between OPC clients and 505 PLC%39s. The server provides read and write access to most register types, and supports extended addressing for PLC%39s with V registers greater than 65535. Connecting to the PLC%39s is done through the CTI 2572 Ethernet card. When an OPC client requests a connection to a specific Item ID the server automatically validates, configures and optimizes the request with existing data request packets.
