The MatrikonOPC Server for ABB UN5000 provides access to data points in the Unitrol 5000 Controller Board (UN5000 COB) using the UN5000 version of the Modbus protocol. The MatrikonOPC server is installed on a Windows PC and uses Ethernet to connect to the UN5000 COB.
The ABB Unitrol 5000 is an excitation system used with medium and large synchronous generators and motors. It is part of ABB's Static Excitation System (SES) which is used in ABB's power stations.
