The Matrikon Data Broker Adapter for Ethernet/IP (EIP MDBA) runs as a
Windows application and provides secure OPC UA-based connectivity to your Ethernet/IP devices, PLCs, and controllers.
This MDBA offers a reliable method for accessing and
managing Ethernet/IP source data via an OPC UA server interface. The Ethernet/IP MDBA includes:
- Support for Get/Set Attribute(s) Explicit Messages
- EDS File based devices
- EIP client messenger operation,

Architecture Overview
The MDB Ethernet/IP Adapter runs as an application on Windows. In addition, the Ethernet/IP MDBA can be used locally, on the same system that MDB runs on, or remotely.

Step 1: Download and Install the MDB Adapter
Step 2: Configure and use the MDB Adapter
All MDB Adapters are plug-ins used with MDB instances. Configure and access your MDB Adapter via Matrikon UA Explorer to:
- Register the MDB Adapter with one or more of your MDB instances.
