Matrikon OPC Explorer tests OPC Data Access (DA) servers, OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) servers, and OPC Alarms & Events (A&E) implementations. The software installs on Windows systems in under 3 minutes and displays OPC server data through a tree-view interface. Matrikon OPC Explorer performs load testing with configurable update rates, identifies OPC servers with Security 1.0 authentication, and validates DCOM configuration settings for remote connections.

Matrikon OPC Explorer supports installation verification, runtime testing, and configuration validation for OPC DA 1.0a through 2.05a servers. The client application browses server address spaces, monitors real-time tag values, and writes test data to validate bidirectional communication. MatrikonOPC Simulation Server

Matrikon OPC Explorer identifies which OPC interfaces each server implements: Data Access (DA), Historical Data Access (HDA), Alarms and Events (A&E), or OPC Security 1.0. The software displays interface availability in the server browser tree view. OPC Security 1.0 support enables username and password authentication for servers requiring login credentials before data access.
