The scope of this specification is to provide an automation interface with the functionality of the Alarm & Event Custom
Interface but in an automation friendly manner.
This document assumes that the reader is familiar with the information provided on the OPC Data Access Custom
Interface Specification. That document provides an Overview of the OPC functionality as well as detailed descriptions
of the behavior of the various functions. We have deliberately not duplicated that information in an attempt to maintain
consistency.
This document also assumes the reader is familiar with the OPC Alarm & Events Specification, and the basic concepts
of OLE Automation, Microsoft COM/DCOM, and Visual Basic.
